Tokyo,documentary attention.東京 · 関東
Documentary-attention coverage of place. Room tone, street pacing, the way Tokyo light falls on architecture. Suited to brand campaigns that need a sense of elsewhere.
Stop 02 / Introはじめに
Tokyo is the city we keep getting hired to film. The work that lands here is mostly brand campaigns that need a sense of place, not a brochure of one. The room tone, the street pacing, the way Tokyo light falls on architecture in the late afternoon, those are the things the camera is there to find. Documentary attention on a brand schedule, finished on the same pipeline as the rest of the work.
Brand and the city as cast.ブランド
EngagementMulti-day · Brand CampaignMost of the engagements take the shape of a multi-day shoot, with the crew traveling from San Diego and the schedule built around a small set of locations the brand wants to anchor in. Brand campaigns make up the bulk of the work, with the city as supporting cast for the brand voice. Architectural and hospitality coverage when the brief calls for it, the boutique hotels, the restaurants, the design-led spaces that already have a strong room and want the film to match. Founder pieces and customer stories for tech and consumer brands operating in the Japan market, where the documentary attention reads as the local edition of the brand.
Permits, location, and the airspace.許可
LogisticsPre-Coordinated · Pre-FiledProduction logistics in Tokyo run differently than they do in the SoCal radius, which the engagement absorbs by planning ahead. Permits, location agreements, and any local crew supplementation are coordinated before the call sheet goes out. Kit travels with the team, with rentals on the ground for anything outsized. Drone in central Tokyo is heavily restricted, and any aerial work clears the relevant authorization through the local channels rather than improvising on the day.
One pipeline, San Diego suite.編集 · 色 · 音
PipelineEdit · Color · Mix · CutdownsThe post pipeline runs from San Diego regardless. Edit, color, motion graphics, and platform cutdowns happen in the same suite the rest of the brand work does. The grade is built to match the visual world the brand already runs in print and on social, not stamped with a generic Japan-vacation look. Tokyo shoots regularly turn into multi-piece campaigns, hero film, supporting cuts, and social cutdowns, all from the same shoot week.

Information.
- How often do you shoot in Tokyo?
- Tokyo is one of the more familiar international markets the team has worked in. The work tends to come in waves around brand campaign cycles rather than a steady monthly cadence, which is the natural shape of an international engagement.
- Do you handle local permits and locations?
- Yes. Permits, location agreements, and any local crew supplementation are coordinated before the call sheet goes out, not improvised on the day. The brand team is not asked to source local production support, that layer is folded into the engagement.
- Can you fly drones in Tokyo?
- Authorization-dependent. Central Tokyo airspace is heavily restricted, and aerial work clears the relevant authorization through the local channels well in advance of the shoot day. Where flight is permitted, the same FAA Part 107 discipline and ACES grading pipeline applies.
- How is travel cost handled?
- Crew travel, kit shipping, and any local rentals are quoted up front with the engagement. No surprise line items at invoice. Most Tokyo engagements are multi-day, with the schedule built to make the travel math work for both sides.
