Los Angeles,two hours up.
Brand, hospitality, music, and the long tail of agency work. Same-day shoots inside SoCal, no travel-day surcharge.
/ Intro
Los Angeles is the market the studio travels into more than any other. Two hours up the freeway from San Diego, a same-day arc for production, no travel-day surcharge. Most of the brand and hospitality work that does not originate in San Diego runs out of LA, plus a steady share of the music, entertainment, and agency work that wants a SoCal-finished look without the LA studio rate card.
The market shapes.
SetupBrand · Hospitality · Music · Agency
The LA market breaks across a few familiar shapes. Brand campaigns, where the agency or in-house team needs production and post in one creative voice instead of stitched together vendor by vendor. Hospitality, the restaurants, hotels, and venues that move on the same seasonal calendar the SoCal market always does. Music and entertainment, the music videos, performance films, and label work that route through the same kit and crew bench as the brand pieces. Real estate at the top of the LA market is a familiar engagement as well, the cliffside listings and brand films for the agents working the coastal pockets and the canyons.
The same-day arc.
TravelSD ↔ LA · 2 hr · Crew Same-Day
The defining feature of the LA engagement is that it runs same-day from the studio. The crew leaves San Diego at first call, the kit is staged for the LA shoot, the post is back in the suite by evening. No travel-day surcharge, no hotel line item, no lost morning to the freeway. Multi-day shoots are handled the same way, with the crew either returning each night or staging a hotel block when the schedule does not allow. The math works because the studio carries enough of its own kit to land in LA without renting against an hourly clock.
Kit, crew, and the venue book.
InventoryCinema Line · LA Crew Supplement
Most of the LA engagements run on the same Cinema Line bodies, lighting, audio, gimbal, and drone packages the rest of the work uses. The crew bench overlaps with San Diego on most production days, supplemented with LA-based crew when the location or the day rate calls for it. Locations and venue relationships have built up over the years across greater LA, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica. Permits, parking, and the operational layer that LA shoots require are folded into the engagement, not handed back to the brand team.
/ Production NotesFrequently asked.
- Are you based in Los Angeles?
- No, the studio is in San Diego. LA is a same-day arc, not a separate office. The advantage is that the brand gets a SoCal-finished look on a single creative team instead of an LA studio rate card and a different vendor for the post pipeline.
- What kinds of work do you ship in LA?
- Brand campaigns, hospitality, music and entertainment, real estate at the top of the market, and the agency work that needs production and post in one creative voice. Tech and SaaS founder pieces as well, when the founder happens to live or work in LA.
- Do you charge for travel from San Diego?
- Same-day shoots inside the SoCal radius do not carry a travel-day surcharge. Multi-day engagements that require a hotel block in LA are quoted up front with the engagement, no surprise line items at invoice.
- Can you work with LA agencies?
- Yes. White-label production for agencies and direct-to-brand work for in-house teams. Most of the brand campaign work in LA runs in collaboration with an existing creative team rather than replacing it.
- Do you cover the canyons and the coastal pockets?
- Yes. Real estate at the top of the LA market is a familiar engagement, with cliffside drone, interior cinematic light, and the grade that sells the lifestyle. Off-market and pre-market listings included, with the same NDA discipline the rest of the brokerage work runs on.

Send the studio up the freeway, book the day.
The crew, kit, and post pipeline all run from San Diego on the same engagement. LA is a production day on the call sheet, not a different vendor on the line item.
